Who We Are
A Platform Built on Patience and Alignment
GB Holdings Group is a private investment platform that takes meaningful, long-term ownership positions in African companies and works alongside management to build them into category leaders. We invest with a multi-decade horizon, take board seats rather than observer rights, and back operators we would re-back.
We are not a fund. Our capital does not have a fixed harvest period, which allows us to invest patiently in businesses where the value-creation cycle is genuinely long.

Vision & Mission

Where we are going
To stand, in time, as Africa's most trusted long-horizon investment platform - owner of category-defining businesses that have outlasted the conditions in which they were built, and partner of choice for the operators who built them.

What we do
To steward capital with discipline and foresight; to provide active, principled oversight of our subsidiaries; to uphold the highest standards of governance, compliance, and risk management; and to compound enduring value for shareholders, partners, and the communities we serve.
A Growing Portfolio of Enduring Partnerships
How we invest.
Long-term capital
We invest with multi-year horizons, free from quarterly metrics or fund-vintage exit windows. This patience allows our companies to gain market share during downturns while others are forced to retreat.
Active, not activist
We partner with management on high-impact outcomes: senior hiring, capital structure, and M&A. We don’t run the business or replace founders; we provide the discipline and accountability to execute the plan.
Cash flow over story
We are skeptical of growth fueled by indefinite capital. We invest in businesses that fund their own growth through cash conversion and sustainable margins, rather than speculative revenue trajectories.
Discipline at entry
More deals fail at the term sheet than at the operating stage. We are willing to walk away from transactions where valuation, structure, or representations do not stand up to scrutiny. The discipline we expect post-investment begins before the cheque clears.
Three commitments we are
willing to be measured against.
Our Partners
We back and work alongside a focused group of partners across asset management, advisory, hospitality, and project management.

Here are some frequently asked questions
Our mission is to steward capital with discipline and foresight, providing active oversight of subsidiaries while upholding the highest standards of governance.
What does 'Capital that Endures' mean?
It is the firm's founding idea: that capital, properly applied and patiently held, can build businesses that outlast the conditions in which they were created. 'Capital' identifies what GB Holdings is — a financial platform. 'Endures' describes the commitment: to time horizon, not to transactional velocity.
Does GB Holdings invest outside Africa?
Our focus is African markets. We have operating presence in three regional hubs — Lagos, Nairobi, and Johannesburg — covering West, East, and Southern Africa. Our investment thesis is built around the structural dynamics of African markets specifically.
What is GB Holdings' approach to governance?
Strong governance is not a marketing line — it is a precondition for the kind of long-horizon investing we do. Every portfolio company has a properly constituted board with independent directors. Every investment goes through a formal investment committee process. Every financial report is prepared to international standards and audited annually by a recognised firm.
How do I get in touch with GB Holdings?
You can reach us via the contact form on this site or directly at contact@gbholdingsglobal.com. We aim to respond within 24–48 hours. For investment enquiries or partnership discussions, mark your subject line accordingly and we will route your message to the right person.
Who can partner with GB Holdings?
We welcome conversations with three categories of counterparty: founders and management teams considering a long-horizon partner or growth-equity investment; institutional investors and family offices evaluating co-investment opportunities alongside the platform; and legal, advisory, and technical due diligence partners interested in working with us.
Where does GB Holdings operate?
GB Holdings is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, with operating hubs in Lagos, Nairobi, and Johannesburg — covering West, East, and Southern Africa respectively. Our investment focus is pan-African.
What is GB Holdings' investment horizon?
We invest with multi-year horizons. Businesses we hold are not run for quarterly metrics or for an exit window dictated by fund vintage. This patience matters most in downturns, when capital that can wait takes share from capital that cannot.
How does GB Holdings work with management teams?
We take board seats, not observer rights. We work alongside management on the things that actually shift outcomes: senior hiring, capital structure, regulatory positioning, and M&A. We do not run the business and we do not replace founders who are still the right operators. We hold them accountable to the plan they signed up to.
What does GB Holdings look for in a business?
Our portfolio companies share three traits. They generate durable cash, or have a credible near-term path to it. Their management teams hold meaningful equity, so interests are aligned. And they have a structural reason — regulatory, geographic, technological, or operational — to believe their position will be defensible five years out.
What sectors does GB Holdings invest in?
We invest selectively across four sectors: Financial Services & Fintech, Digital Infrastructure & Real Assets, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Real Estate & Hospitality. In each, we have a specific view of where durable returns sit — and, equally important, where they do not.
Is GB Holdings a fund?
No. GB Holdings is a private investment platform, not a fund. Our capital does not have a fixed harvest period. This allows us to invest with patience in businesses where the value-creation cycle is genuinely long — without the pressure of an exit window dictated by fund vintage.
What is GB Holdings?
GB Holdings Nigeria Limited is a private investment platform that takes meaningful, long-term ownership positions in African companies and works alongside management to build them into category leaders.
